Meet the Board: Jamie Galbreath Champion for Mental Health and Community Well-being
We are incredibly lucky to have a dedicated, compassionate group of leaders on our Board of Directors—and Jamie Galbreath is a shining example of someone who lives out Touchstone’s values every day.
Jamie joined the Touchstone Board of Directors three years ago, bringing with her over two decades of experience in mental health care and a deep passion for serving individuals living with severe and persistent mental illness. Her firsthand knowledge of the field gives her a unique and invaluable perspective in her role on the board.
When asked why she chose to join Touchstone, Jamie’s response reflects her commitment to both the mission and the people we serve:
“I’ve worked in the mental health field for over 20 years and have a passion for serving unique population groups. I believe in Touchstone’s mission to provide innovative, person-centered services that foster hope, health, and well-being. Touchstone is a pillar in the mental health community, supporting recovery and helping individuals build the skills they need to live well and independently. I especially support Touchstone’s focus on health and wellness to improve outcomes for this vulnerable population.”
Jamie’s professional journey has taken her through a variety of roles, including work in Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services (ARMHS), group homes, IRTS, and case management. Her comprehensive understanding of the mental health system is now being used in her current role as Quality and Population Health Director at UCare.
“My background in mental health has helped me better support our most vulnerable and disabled populations,” she says. “I’ve used my experience to design health education programs and build community partnerships that connect people to preventive screenings, address social drivers of health, and improve overall well-being.”
When asked what she hopes more people understand about this work, Jamie is clear: the right support can transform lives.
“When proper supports are in place, individuals with severe mental illness can live independent, successful lives. Housing is one of the greatest needs, and there’s a continued demand for supportive housing services that help this population thrive. Transitional housing, stabilization programs, and wraparound support make a real difference.”
Her passion for this work is unmistakable—and she encourages others to get involved in whatever ways they can.
“This population faces higher risks for physical health problems, greater stigma, disparities in care, and more social barriers that prevent them from reaching their full potential. They need comprehensive, ongoing support—whether through case management, housing, ARMHS services, employment, or social connection. The focus should remain on recovery and well-being, and that means continued innovation, funding, and advocacy are essential.”
